Lore and history

The Boys Club Universe

Boys Club started as a comic by the artist Matt Furie in the mid-2000s. It followed four friends who shared an apartment: Pepe, a frog; Andy, a dog; Brett, a toad; and Landwolf, a wolf. Not a lot happened in it, and that was sort of the point. They played video games, cracked jokes, drank beer and got into small surreal messes. One panel, where Pepe pulls his pants all the way down and says “feels good man,” slipped loose from the comic and turned into one of the most recognised images on the internet.

From there the characters took on a life far past the page. Pepe spread through 4chan and then everywhere else. Around 2015 he got dragged into politics, which Furie never wanted, and Furie spent years fighting to take the character back with his Save Pepe campaign. In 2019 Hong Kong protesters adopted Pepe as a symbol of something very different. Then in 2023 the $PEPE token launched and ran to a billion dollar valuation, and the rest of the crew followed close behind: Andy, Landwolf, Brett, Birddog, Fofar and dozens more.

What was once a small underground comic is now a whole shared world of tokens, art and communities. This site keeps track of that family. Some of these projects are still very much alive. Some are small and quiet. Some have stopped for good. We list all of them and say plainly which is which.

Why we keep an archive

Most memecoins do not last. Prices move, teams move on and plenty of these tokens have gone quiet for good. The art and the stories are still worth keeping in one place, so when a project winds down we move it to the archive rather than deleting it. For current prices, every project page links straight to its chart.
