Gasspas is a fierce cat from Matt Furie's book 'Cortex Vortex,' written as the nemesis of Rato the rat, all hunting instinct and calculating patience. The character first appeared in ZOGZ, Furie's set of 111 original NFT illustrations from May 2023, before clawing into the memecoin space. In the art it looms over rats, playing up the old predator-and-prey hierarchy that drives its story. $GASS brings that predatory edge to the Furie coins, a sharper contrast to the more laid-back characters. It is one of the newer entries tied to the Cortex Vortex book.
